Well, before you get into all of this, does he realy really like you? or does he seem that he likes you as a friend?

if he does really like you and asks you out, then you will really have some trouble. I advise you to talk to your friend and explain that you like him. or, talk to the both of them to sort things out. I'm sorry, but there's no real way that you can get out of this without one person getting hurt. believe me, this has happened to me before. if she really is a good friend, then she will not say anything bad about it, but if she is upset or bothered by this, then you might have to wait a while until she is over him. it is painful when a relationship ends, so you might want to give her time until you tell her that you like him.
