HELP!!

Ok so last year i liked this guy alot ( i didnt know him and he didnt know me) and me and my friends used to talk about him and eventually somebody told him. After that he asked about two more people just to make sure i liked him. So this year at lunch he sits at the table behind me. He stares at me alot, but he doesnt smile. And one time he got in trouble for who- knows- what and when he came back to the table he kept staring at me! (his face was red) Even when im laughing he stares at me. So does he like me? HELP!!!! (PS he told my friends boyfriend that he thought i was cute and was wondering why i disnt ask him out. But im not sure if he was lying or not.) What do i do? HELP!!!
