A guy likes me, should I go out with him?

I know a guy who likes me. His brother dated my friend and they're ex-boyfriend and girlfriend. Everyone says he has a crush on every girl in our school, but I don't think that's true. I might get a crush on him and give him a chance at dating him! So should I give him a chance?
