theres a guy jared a school
1.)he gave me the nickname peanut
2.)he put his arm around me saying he was getting something on my desk
3.) if im kind of upset that day he'll give me a hug and wont let go until i say im ok
4.)he texts me and asks me about my dreams
5.) if im talking to a guy he'll put my arm around me and walk away with me

so does he like me?

There are many possibilities. One, he could like you, but it doesn't seem entirely likely. Two, he could just see you as one of his close friends and feels protective of you (I'm leaning towards this one personally). Or three, he's gay and is very touchy-feely friendly towards you.
