Yes, it's much, much easier to never love and never be in pain. But love isn't about "easy." No matter the pain you go through, love is one of the best experiences, the highest of highs. People generally go through a series of relationships before finding "the one," and yes, they'll get hurt time and time again, but I believe that it's worth it. Finding the one person who will become your sun and you moon is worth the pain you'll go through to get there. Little is better than loving and being loved in return.

Also, getting hurt is part of growing. You'll probably end up wiser than you were before, with more mature views of the world. Living in ignorance, never getting hurt, while bliss, is ignoring what it means to be human. Love helps you to become more you, and it brings out the best in you.
