I'm so tired honestly... all my safe places wind up having homophobes, i hate this.

Today... can't say I'm surprised, though. Homophobes are going to be homophobic everywhere, just as racists and sexists and intolerant people in general.

Today someone in the disney princess group literally, unironically compared lgbt people to pedophiles and i want to scream.

The most common thing I've seen here is summed up wonderfully in sarabeara's link provided in her comment; basically, someone will bring up the idea of a fictional character possibly being something other than straight, and others will respond with, "I don't see them that way" or "it doesn't fit with their character". Which implies that they think your orientation and your personality go directly hand in hand.

Also sometimes when people make "who do you have a crush on" picks, and they write "girls only" in the question and then fill the possible answers with all males. The pick creator may not necessarily have anything against those who are not straight, but it is a sign of the heteronormality mindset, which can be harmful.

I've also seen my fair share of assumptions that there are only two genders. That's probably just down to a lack of education in that area though, and unlikely meant to be anything offensive.

In all honesty, Fanpop is one of the more LGBT friendly sites I visit, but that's not to say it's completely free of LGBT hate. I guess that's saying something about some of the other sites I go on! DX

A shit ton of it. Even in the Disney Princess group. Fanpop is one of the more homophobia sites I've been on. When people on here say stuff like "I hate LGBT people" or "an LGBT princess would be a bad role model" or worst, "homosexuality is as bad as incest or pedophilia", they're supporting hate and violence.

Mostly on the Merlin club and whenever I mentioned Swan Queen on the Once club. Haven't seen it in a while though.

I've never seen it personally, mostly because I don't come on here very often, but I have no doubt it exists. Shame, but people are always gonna try and start something.
