I want to lean towards lesbians, but I believe that they're only easier accepted because they are so commonly sexualized or because a lot of people say they are just "going through a phase"... which is not okay. So, I'm not really sure...

It's not a privilege. It's just that women are so fucking sexualized that it's more acceptable for them to display their affection in public, because then other people can ogle them. But all of a sudden when men decide to be affectionate in public it's disgusting and gross. This is what I hate about society.

Same as enjj, really. My initial thought was that women are generally more accepted, but only really because they're victims of straight men objectifying them as sex objects (despite them having no interest in men), and that's not really the same thing as acceptance.

Neither are accepted. They're both sexualized. Straights are just fine watching them have sex with each other, but as soon as they want to get married there's a huge problem. Plus, the term "gay best friend" just treats gays as objects. It's disgusting.
