Based on wikipedia, "Rape is a type of sexual assault usually involving sexual intercourse, which is initiated by one or more persons against another person without that person's consent."
If you think about it, even if it's without the consent, if the one being raped somehow liked the feeling he/she had when he/she was being raped, then maybe it would in turn change his/her sexuality.
These are just theories of mine since a person's psychology is very hard to comprehend + I have no personal experiences regarding the topic at hand.
Depends on how bad trauma the rape or other bad experience causes.
It can, however, turn a person off from sex, like I mentioned. If a heterosexual girl is raped by a man, she can be turned off from having sex with men, but that doesn't make her a lesbian. She might /think/ she's a lesbian because she doesn't have an attraction to men, but that is not the case, unless she was bi/pan/etc to start. If a lesbian is raped by a man, she may become less interested in sex with women, but would be no means suddenly start to like men. Both of these women are turned off from /intercourse/ now, but have not changed sexuality. This is a fear that is not in orientation, but a different issue entirely. If they want to have a healthy sexual life as adults, they should seek the help of a professional.
Of course at this point I've neglected men as a possible rape victim as well. Raping a gay man will not make him straight, and raping a straight an will not make him gay. The same applies as above.
Oh, wowee, I've said a lot... sorry! My psychology major comes out sometimes! ^^;;
It doesn't necessarily mean their sexuality has changed, though. Fear caused by trauma isn't the same thing as being naturally unable to be sexually attracted to certain genders.
I think chickenpanda221 explained it much better than I ever could!
