Law and Order SVU Question

Kathy, (Elliot's wife) in what profession is she? Or is she just a stay at home mom?

I often hear she was a RN or wanted to be, or something like that but I'm not all too familiar with her character. Would be nice if you could supply as much knowledge about her as you know. Would be very grateful.

She's actually a nurse. Or training to be one, I'm not sure. In the season 3 episode 'Popular', a nurse friend of Kathy's - whom she works with - tells her about a rape victim.

Not sure if she still is a nurse atm, but she definitely used to be.
