Lady Gaga has a number of tattoos - when asked how many she has in total even she has trouble with the exact number! Her father reportedly said that she was running out of real estate when she told him she was getting a tattoo to honor him!

She has tattoos on her wrist, her shoulder, back and her inner arm. In her video for Bad Romance you could see a lot of her tattoos very clearly.

The rumor mill was in hyperdrive about Lady Gaga revealing the name of her next album on a tattoo to be revealed on New Years Eve 2010, then we saw her left leg bandaged.......a new tattoo perhaps?

At the 2010 Video Music Awards Lady Gaga actually revealed the name of her new album when recieving the award for video of the year (for Bad Romance) - Born This Way.

The following day her tattoo was revealed when she was walking through Los Angeles International Airport. On her left thigh the tattoo is of a unicorn with the words BORN THIS WAY wrapped around the unicorn's horn. Lady GaGa - Peace Out
The tattoo that most of Lady GaGa fans are familiar with is her peace sign on the inside of her wrist. Some people have said to her that this tattoo is upside down, but her response has always been that it's the right way up when she looks at it and that's what she wanted.

Why the peace sign? Lady GaGa was born after John Lennon was killed and yet she is a huge John Lennon fan and has said that she got this peace tattoo for him. John Lennon was always talking (and singing about peace) his singles - Give Peace a Chance and Imagine talked of peace and have effected a generation of people

Lady Gaga has a total of 9 tattoos on her body! The tattoos are listed below in the order she got them in and where they are.

1. PEACE - left wrist
Gaga got a tattoo of a peace sign in honor of one of her biggest inspirations, John Lennon, and the love and peace exhibited in his songs. It faces right-side up when Gaga looks at it, since it is facing her. The peace is a part of her.

2. TREBLE CLEF - lower middle back
Gaga had this inked for her passion for music (if you don't know what a treble clef is, Google is your friend!).

3. ROSES - left side of back
This tattoo blends in to the treble clef, was inspired by Gaga's love for roses, and was created by the infamous Kat Von D.

4. DAISIES - left shoulder
3 daisies, the first one on her shoulder, and was inspired by her love for daisies.

5. POEM FOR A POET AND JOANNE - inner left upper arm
Written in German, is a quote from "Letters to a Young Poet" by Rainer Maria Rilke, Gaga's favorite philosopher, along with the death-date of Gaga's aunt, Joanne, 12/18/1974, whom Gaga thinks she is a reincarnation of.

I was bound by Araki’s personal bondage artist, by several ropes and Japanese knots … Araki photographed me, using a series of several cameras. He did not photograph my image; he photographed my soul. We spent the night with Araki and his friends at a members’ only bar he’s owned for more than 20 years, where he displays his work. When Gaga said she was getting a heart tat with the word 'Dad' inside for her father, to persuade him to get a much-needed heart surgery, Daddy Gaga said,"Well you're running out of real estate, so get it small."

To show her love for her fans, the 2 cursive words have been there since February 1st, 2010.

9. BORN THIS WAY UNICORN - outside left thigh
