Meteorologist '''Katie Horner''' joined KMOV News 4 in January 2013, She is a 4 Warn Meteorologist alongside Robin Smith on News 4 at Noon, and is part of the markets only all female newscast on News 4 at 5 pm with Sharon Reed and Jasmine Huda.
Katie spent her younger days in Bellevue, NE, it was there she experienced her first tornadoes and developed her passion of the weather. She's been forecasting the weather in 1989, Where she began her career in WEAR-TV in Pensacola, FL, In 1994, Katie moved to Kansas City and joined KCTV 5 where she was a Chief Meteorologist and spent there for 18 years.
Katie appreciates teaching children about the weather, and has even written a book titled,"Brainstorming...A Creative Guide to help parents and children during Severe Weather," Katie has been actively involved in breast cancer awareness through the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In addition to the Race of the Cure, you could find Katie emceeing or competing in courtless 5ks, 10ks, and even a traithlon, She also enjoys skiing, snorkeling, trail jogging and road cycling, Katie is forward to hooking up with some of the St. Louis bike groups and exploring the back roads.
Katie's parents have lived in St. Louis for 25 years and are very active in the community, She is thrilled to be living close to them again and looks forward making St. Louis her home.
