- Everybody In Love with Lanarkshire Racecourse -
Hamilton Park Racecourse, in association with leading concert producers Liz Hobbs Group Ltd, is pleased to confirm chart-toppers JLS are set to return to the Lanarkshire racecourse on Friday 23rd July 2010.
Following their spectacular performance at the racecourse in 2009, JLS released their debut single, Beat Again; which went to number one in the UK singles chart, and sold more than 100,000 copies. The band then notched up a further UK number one with their second hit, Everybody in Love and finished off their amazing year with two MOBO awards.
Vivien Kyles, Chief Executive of Hamilton Park racecourse, said “The event is a real coup for the racecourse and for the area. Over the last two years our strategy has been to develop Hamilton Park as a venue and to show our capability of hosting high-profile events on non-racing days. For a band of this calibre to want to return to perform at Hamilton Park, it’s a massive boost for the racecourse and for Lanarkshire”.
The band’s appearance at the racecourse in July last year was one of the highlights of 2009 for Hamilton Park and on the basis of their popularity that night and their amazing success since, tickets are expected to sell out fast.
Vivien adds: “More than 10,000 fans attended last year’s concert and with the crowd capacity set to be alot higher this year, we’ve repositioned the stage so that it’s opposite the main Grandstand area; allowing us to not only increase the number of tickets available, but to also create a natural concert venue”.
“This is a huge demonstration of our ability to host major events outside of our traditional racing season and we have developed a reputation that allows us to now attract high profile bands to the region. If this concert proves a success we will push on from there and aim to attract more big names and stage similar standalone events in the future.”
Tickets go on sale Thursday 21st January 2010 on the Hamilton Park website (www.hamilton-park.co.uk) and via Ticketmaster (08444 999 990 / www.ticketmaster.co.uk) and Seetickets (www.seetickets.com).
