this is going to be a v short article just for anyone who may be questioning why i religiously post those headcanons. idk i just feel like it's necessary for justify myself here
some people dislike these headcanons because they think you're placing an ordeal on these characters and making these experiences out to be fun and simple, or "romanticizing" either mental struggles or the oppression that comes along with being genderqueer.
as someone who is both mentally ill and genderqueer obviously it's going to sound silly to me if someone accuses me of that, like wow sorry for romanticizing myself, see what i'm getting at there?
it's comforting for us to see ourselves represented, but there's generally a significant lack of decent representation of mentally ill/trans/etc ppl in media, so as far as representation is concerned headcanons are basically all we have. whether it's a character we relate to or just really like, the thought of them understanding our experiences is just very comforting, so really these headcanons are yet another coping mechanism. so i've you've ever wondered why i'm so invested in headcanons of that sort, there you have it. plus once you really get into it it's p fun to exchange them with other ppl like you, that's also a comforting experience, which is why you may see many of my friends posting similar things here.
