Not a big fan of the books. And also, even though i love Ian, i dont think he's the right person for this character, since he doesn't have the right build. Even the best actors dont fit every role. But in the end, its still the writers & directors decision...

I don't think Ian should waste his time with it. Christian Grey is creepy. And not in a good way like Damon Salvatore. Creepy as in stalk you for years creepy.
