Fanvideos ... how do i make them???

Hey, i want to know how i get the stuff to make a fan video. I guess u get them from the dvd´s, or not???? I dont know how i should "copie" the scenes i need from the dvd to my computer ... maybe my explenation is a bit bemusing, but if can help me, pls, help me.
