Why are the victims in horror movies always so stupid?

Because it's fun to watch stupid people die?

i just personally thinks itz bcuz there curious iz like o look the scary guy w/ a nife just ran into the kitchen i wonder what his name is let me go ask him!

I think it's for the suspense. Sometimes they can get away with it and others have not. Some have proved not only are the characters retarded but the whole movie and premise.

its because the white peoples always run and fall black people wanna fight back but they still get killed most of the time

yea like seriously u think that people would be smart when it comes to a life or death situation.But i guess they do that too make it easy 4 the killers to kill them somethin like that...idk

because if they were smart then they would be happy and safe and then there wouldnt be a horror movie!

ya i just watched the messengers w/ kristen stewart and her character was so stupid!! i was like are you freakin kidding me?? lol but i guess if they werent stupid/naive it wouldnt be a horror movie

They're stupid because they're teens.
MOST of the teens are curious, ignorant and horny.
Well...And stupid.
There are really only few who are smart enough to survive.
Also, it wouldn't be interesting to see the KILLER gets killed by smart victims!

It's either because they can't get away fast enough or they don't know the easy way to try and hurt the killer.
