okay really it depends on the individual but here a few of my favs Halloween(1978)(whole series is great but the remakes suck)(Anything John Carpenter is awesome another good one from him is The Thing and Assault on Precinct 13)(Zombie had other good movies just Halloween wasn't a good match),A Nightmare on elm street(they all are good even the remake ANOES2 is the only one i majorly have some thing to complain about)(Anything Wes Craven is awesome too Last house on the Left,Scream and the Hills have eyes are some other good ones he made),Friday the 13th(1980),The Mangler,The Black Swarm(This and the Mangler are both starring Robert Englund the actor who plays the original Freddy Krueger i recommend watching majority of his:link
),What ever happened to baby Jane?(Betty Davis is as creepy as always she puts on a phenomenal performance),Texas chain saw massacre(the first ones the best but they all are pretty good including the remake and prequel)(Tobe Hooper is a director that has definitely made his mark on Hollywood he is a director that's movies you must see a few others hes made other than TCSM are The Mangler,Toolbox murders,Salems lot,bodybag and Crocodile),Scream(the series is pretty good in general),Candyman(Clive Barkers movies and books are pretty good all i can say is i wouldn't go say Candyman in the mirror)(another series of his is Hellraiser),House of 1,000 corpses(not necessarily my taste but its a pretty good modern type),Phantom of the opera(1923)(starring Lon Chaney)(Not really scary but it gives you a bit of an idea of what horror was originally like)Frankenstein(1931)(starring Boris Karloff)(wonderful movie),House on Haunted Hill(1959)(starring Vincent Price)(Gives you chills),The Birds(any of Alfred Hitchcock's stuff will give you chills),Ghost ship(its pretty good back when i first saw it it creep-ed me out its still pretty creepy but not as bad)

the strangers is freakin scary if you like realistic horror movies. It is scary because there is no supernatural stuff its all real and its not dumb like some horror movies. it is a good horror movie with a plot lol

Well, everyone's different, but for me it was The Mist. I also heard that The Exorcist had people sleeping in the church.

id say....Halloween,Friday The 13th,Nightmare On Elm Street,The Grudge,The Ring and The Texas chainsaw Massacre all combined. Halloween cuz Michael is hot and he is a stalker serial psycho killer. (wish he could stalk me)friday The 13th cuz no matter where u go Jason will always find u.Nightmare On Elm Street cuz of da way Freddy kills u in ur dreams. The Grudge cuz no matter where u r it always seens she can come out of amything. The Ring cuz well shes a bit like the grudge but a black and white ring would show up in ur tv and even if if un-plup da tv the ring is stiil on ur tv and she comes out and kills u. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre cuz of how he tortures ppl and everytime he kills some1 they HAVE 2 show the victims blood and guts! P.S most of ppl and my friends think im da grudge and the grl from da ring cuz i always have my hair in face. (im emo and goth and a tomboy) They even think im Michael Myers and Jason cuz im real quite and pop out of nowhere and scare them and show no mercy towards others. And they dont tink of me as Tommy from da Texas Chainsaw Massacre cuz well idk. Oh and Michael Myers is smokin hot! and looks sexy wen he kills ppl! and jason 2!
