Hetalia Question

What do you think of France X Jeanne D'Arc?

I more than love this pairing. This is probably the one pairing I can possibly come to actually shipping. i don't know. Whenever I see the two together I can't help but cry rivers of tears.
I hated England for a week. Not just Arthur England but Angleterre England. Jeanne was a real person dude and she burned at the stake. She did so much at my age and saved France and they burned her?! No one should ever do that to a person. Never.

But yeah I cry. And that doujinshi? Above, whenever I see it I cry even more.
What do you think of France X Jeanne D'Arc?

By the way i should probably mention that I love all pairings. Its just that some get to me more than others. I can see why some don't like it though. She is a controversial pairing because of the fact that she was a historical figure and also a saint.

Not only that but she was betrayed by The French King. So I can see why. I just wish that Jeanne had a happy ending though. Anyhow anyone watched the movie on Jeanne? Was she ever in love with the knight? That confuses me ever so much.

Of course I know, which is why I clarified that I meant England not Iggy England. It was a moment of history for me not Hetalia. My apologies I tend to talk alot between the two.

XD Well, it won't do good if you'll take personally what England did. (except if you're a Frenchman then no wonder)...
Things happen. It was a period of turmoil. People during that time were less enlightened. Things start from a crude level. I don't think it will do good if we scorn a country for a past deeds dated way way long time ago. 'Cause it's not like they haven't already learned from that mistake. Though I may not approve of it but bloody wars are part of the evolution of every country. The better thing to have in mind with regard to historical events is to learn from it, so we can avoid the bad and implement the good. Hatred won't be of much help, in this case.

As to France x Jeanne, well I don't really see it as a romantic tandem. Maybe I used to before but my shipping are a lot more narrowed down now. As I see them, they are like a kin to each other. The same loyalty and piety of a child to her father.

Yeah I know I just tend to have an overreactive imagination. You know how when you learn or read something you get into that time period? Like as if you're in it? ...Erm...maybe thats just me. Sorry I'm weird.

If it's just momentary emotional reaction then I guess it's understandable, don't worry.

Yup, you certainly got carried away... in a good way... And nice knowing about your dream of becoming a history professor. History happened to be one of my faves (all are social sciences) so I can say it's an ideal profession when the time comes (lols, now I'm talking about job. Sorry. Senior moment. Senior citizen = mushy)

Well, I'm not really fond of the Country X Historical Figure pairings~ But if others ship it then that's perfectly fine ^_^
Jeanne is my most favorite historical figure <3 But I just think of their relationship as a bond between a great person of history showing loyalty, and honor for her beautiful country by fighting for it til death~ But nothing romantic. ^^

A bond between great historical figure and her country. Exactly.

Yeah I can understand that. Sometimes I question myself is it her or really love. I tend to see it the same way but as love from a country to a figure. I can see what you mean though.

I'm not really into Nation X historical figure pairings either... And particularly this pairing. The reason is because Jeanne was, first and foremost, a saint, those I don't think she would be so inclined to do worldly things like falling in love, and even if she did, she wouldn't be so open about it because it was looked down upon female saints who had relationships at that time. And there's also the fact that it's somewhat bitter when you realise the French did, in fact, NOTHING to save her.

Ah yes, to think of it, she is a Saint, besides being a heroic historical figure. And so I'm a lot more detaching the romance.

Don't remind m~ :) . I watched a movie on her and it made me want to cry. My class and I knew she can't fall in love for though she is a girl at the time she was the Maid. Istill wish that Jeanne was able to enjoy life more though, she was born a girl and made into a saint. It makes me realize what we take for granted. However was it France who betrayed her or the Charles VI. I'm sorry I'm getting into history now aren't I?

And you clearly missed the point that France loved her and feels like dirt for his people doing nothing to save her.

I don't really care for the pairing itself, but Jeanne D'Arc was one of my idols long before I discovered Hetalia..and I was really upset to find that she died that way, and felt quite cross at the people responsible..but I guess that's all in the past, we can't really change it..and it was just the way things were. I could only hope that the same mistake wouldn't be repeated, and her name would be honored..

She's one of mine too. However history is still repeated. Not at that approach but people still get hurt everyday. It makes me sad. But it's okie if you don't agreed to it. I can see why some won't.

It's honestly the only pairing I have for France at all. It is just so sad but beautiful. There isn't much else to say.

That's okie-dokie. I can see why some don't. She was after all a historical figure.

That pairing is beautiful and amazing, that's one of the pairings I can't look at without crying my eyes out. France loved her so much, he really blames himself for what happened to her. He was happy to meet Lisa, happy that his Jeanne was reborn to a happy life. It's just...tragicly beautiful. ;_;
