Hetalia Question

Do you think that I can show Hetalia in my history class? (just for fun?)

I've seen kids show Hetalia to their class and I wanna show Hetalia to my history class so our class wouldn't be so boring. Plus I wanna see my classmate's reactions.

I don't think so, well first of all it has nothing really much to do about history and not very educational like the way teachers like it to be and second not very school appropriate the teacher wouldn't be comfortable with gay men doing the dance with no pants :) But if you try hard and try to show an episode with no cussing naked action or any actual kinda gay men sexual contact then i think your good

((Nothing really much to do about history.......Did I just read that right? Have you even watched Hetalia? It is all about history. The Axis? The Allies? WORLD WAR II? Please, they add humor to a historical anime show. I showed Hetalia to my class during the WWII segment we were talking about and funny, we all passed our tests with A+ -3-))

((It's not accurate. As a whole it's not. There are little facts here and there BUT you are more likely to pass a test by reading an actual book bout history OR studying with out hetalia. Futuresoul is right

I think it may depend on what grade you are in, since Hetalia can be slightly inappropriate at times. If you're in...maybe, 8h grade, or high school, you might not have such a hard time getting it approved as to if you were in 7th grade or below. It also depends on the teacher, since some are more strict than others. However, I won't discourage you from showing it, good luck! ^^

Uhhhh....maybe the teacher might say its historically unaccurate or something and if your like me your friends will go like:0.0 (dafuq?!)

^ Well, most teachers like teaching hisory the old-fashioned way, with textbooks. Hetalia's not entirely inaccurate, though. It's actually a fun way to learn facts about countries.

Okay this is really late but apart from not being really accurate.. it's not really appropiate for those under 16(especially to what in a school) when i was in school we weren't allowed to watch M rated moves till year 11 and 12... so not a good idea.

I think it depends what grade you are in, because there are some somewhat inappropriate moments and a curse word every once and a while.
But I think it also depends on how awesome your teacher is :)

Well personally I'm not sure it depends on your school. If you want History Class to be fun I can tell you that my teacher would let us watch movies, We were even about to watch Disney's Pocahontas but we didn't have the time. It all really depends on your school or teacher.

Okay, so um..i'm in 7th grade and acually got to show hetalia in my hisrory class, see what happened was after making a ppt. Of the revilutionary war use a bunch of hetalia pics the teacher asked me where i got them and i showed her, so we got to watch america's storage room
closet, also if you ever get to do this make sure you rewatch whatever episode you want to show BEFORE(and i canot
stress this enough) you show the class so you know its clean(not that most episodes aren't) and that there is no cussing( again not that most episodes have cussing

((Depending on what grade you're in, 10th-12th grade is alright. Show it to your teacher first and if he/she is okay, then go for it. And choose the scene wisely. Don't show a Chibitalia scene. The best scene to show is probably the bit with Busby's Chair since that is a real chair that is hanging from a wall in England))

I think it would be an interesting experience for your history teacher, if he/she didn't mind the cursing. Other then that, I wouldn't show it.

I don't think that's a good idea for a number of reasons, mainly because Hetalia isn't fully historical accurate and some people may think of it as racist:

1. Hetalia is somewhat biased. For example, Italy is portrayed as a "pasta-loving fool" as the military efforts of the Italian army is dismissed by the British government during WW2 in order to boost British morale.

2. Hetalia oversimplifies history. A lot of the countries in Hetalia were actually many separate countries at some point in history.

3. Some people may think that Hetalia's portrayal of World War 2 is inappropriate. The truth is that millions of people died during WW2 and they may think that Hetalia is disrespectful towards the victims of the war. Hetalia also censors all the war crimes that happened during WW2 such as the Holocaust and the Nanjing Massacre, which may be considered as a form of white-washing by some people. World War 2 is still a sensitive topic for some people and it needs to be dealt with carefully.

4. Your teacher may be anti-Japan/Germany. Some people still have prejudices towards these two countries due to their WW2 war crimes.

5. Your teacher is probably from a generation that has strong anti-Japan/Germany attitudes. He or she may have parents that were there during WW2. Do you think that a British teacher will like Hetalia if his/her parents were alive during WW2, where the UK was bombed by Germany? I don't think so.

6. Some people may think of Hetalia's stereotypes to be racist.

7. Some of the language used in Hetalia is relatively vulgar. This includes ethnic slurs that may be offensive.

8. Your class will probably learn more by watching a more historically accurate video.

9. Some members of the class may think of you as shoving down your own fandoms down people's throat and may dislike you because of that. They may have no interest in anime and think of you as a crazy weeaboo fangirl.

So in general, don't show your class Hetalia if you want to stay on the safe side. Keep it to yourself and save it for other Hetalians/your friends.
