Hetalia Question

I'm writing a Hetalia fanfic and...

I'm writing an Hetalia fanfic and need help on clarifications, it seems.

I'm already off to chapter two, and not having much problems at all. The only thing I can't really decided are names.

Take this for example: When I write in the paragraphs of each character/country, I first type the country name, like "France"
However, I like others to sometimes say their human name, like "Francis". So I decided that, throughout the passages, once another says their human name, I will refer to that character (thru thought, dialogue, etc) by that name.

But I noticed other fanfic writers just completely use their humans names, or just the countries names, not both. Do you think it's confusing if you read it like this (taken from my, said, fanfic):

---Kallistrate was usually polite to most countries, especially Francis (who truly did not tend any harm, in spite of his provocative hugs and fondles), but not today. For some facetious reason, however, Francis did not falter his smile, “Ahaha, so you see me as a gorgeous man of great beauty I hold? Very flattering, Athanasia!”
Athanasia gave up immediately and, thankfully, could perceive Antonio’s house at the horizon. ---

It went from "Kallistrate" to "Athanasia" (the country to maiden name). When chapters start, it can go either way. Still, I haven't got much feedback on the fanfic so I was hoping anyone out there could help me out -either reassure me that this is fine or suggest a new strategy of writing this story better ^^

Sorry for long question and all answers are greatly appreciated! I'm not trying to advertise my writing but if you are interested to read this fanfic, here's a link- link

Thanks in advance!

Hetalia Answers

From what I've seen, most Hetalia fanfic writers tend to use just the country names or the human names (usually in human Alternate Universe fanfics) and do not jump between the two. Wouldn't blame them though, since when you normally read something a character's name usually won't be changing every so often, so doing it in a Hetalia fanfic could confuse readers. Especially newer fans who may not know all the characters human names and many fans do tend to get confused when you throw characters without an official human name and fan characters into the mix.

Most Hetalia fans I've seen who also read fanfiction find changing the names throughout the fanfic to also just be generally annoying and distracting.

So I'd just stick to referring to everybody by either their human names or country names and avoid going between them, just to avoid irritating readers (which is something you probably aren't wanting).

Thank you; I think, deep down, I wanted someone to say that only one or the other work, not both. Your answer was very assuring, and again, I thank you ^_____^
