Hetalia Question

What is Japan's dark side like? Is it shown in the anime?

I've been seeing pictures of this dark Japan character and haven't yet seen him appear in the anime. So wheither or not he is in there, I still wonder what he is like and how he contrasts with his lighter personality.
What is Japan's dark side like? Is it shown in the anime?

I think it's just a more elaborate version of his white default uniform but in black but because of the whole 'black equals evil' thing and the things the Japanese army (and Imperial Japan as a whole) did during WWII means most fans link the design to Imperial Japan and an overall darker side to him.

Basically, design's offical but dark!Japan is just a fan portrayal of Imperial Japan represented through this specific design.

Well, I think dark Japan is just fanmade. He never appeared in web comic. I think dark Japan symbolizes the dark past of Japan. Like in World War II, Japan colonized many South East Asian Countries. They were all turn into slaves and Japan was very cruel at that time. They were forced to work without payment and if they reject, they shall be hit, killed, raped, and other kind of things
