He kept things hidden and had his own agenda, but In the long run, his influence in Harry's life was more positive than negative by a long shot. In fact I see very little negative impact in Harry's life.Try to imagine Harry's fight without Dumbledore to guide him. He was a great help and also gave Harry some great lessons about life and death and I think Harry got wiser because of him. Dumbledore really cared for Harry, it's just that he had an enormous weight on his shoulders, having all that knowledge and having to guide Harry defeat Voldy while knowing Harry was an horcruxe. What would you have done? It was a no-win scenario from the get go that they managed to win anyway.

Dumbledore did his best to help Harry, and protected him as much as he could. He hid the truth about the prophecy for too long because he wanted Harry to continue to be sheltered. The only thing he did which could be interpreted as wrong was not inform Harry or Snape that he believed that Voldemort taking Harry's blood for the resurrection potion would preserve Harry's protection, and the reason he did that was because if Harry truly believed he was sacrificing himself, he'd protect everyone else the same way Lily's sacrifice protected him.

People are really unfair to Dumbledore. Like they present Snape as the tragic hero and Dumbledore as the manipulative old guy. Like what? Did you read the books? Snape was an asshole and a bully to children. He is responsible for Lily turning her back on him and Voldemort going after them. Becoming a spy was the very least thing he should do to atone for his sins.
Dumbledore chose to hide some things from Harry but geez you can't tell all those things to a young boy. "Oh yes Harry by the way, you are an horcruxe so you probably have to die someday, sorry about that" He shared more and more with him as time went on and tried to mentor him the best he could. I don't see how it is unhealthy? Because he kept some things secret? What would you have done then?
