Harry Potter Question

I'm confused about some stuff Sirius did.

In Prisoner of Azkaban, it says that after Sirius "killed" all those Muggles and Pettigrew, he started laughing and kept laughing even when he was being taken to Azkaban. Since we know that Sirius didn't really kill anyone, and he should have been devastated about James' death, why was he laughing?? Pettigrew couldn't have used the Confundus charm or the Imperius Curse cuz his wand was behind his back.

And in Goblet of Fire, how come Sirius didn't go to Grimmauld Place? I mean, to live. He was just living homelessly, when he could have gone to Grimmauld Place.

Plz answer i dont remember any of this!!! i love sirius so i want 2 know!

1) People react differently to death. Some laugh some cry. There also is the 5 stages of lost and grief to take account.
Denial and Isolation
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance
Sirius was in the anger stage I believe he just lost his best friends.

2) Sirius hated Grimmauld Place in fact he never wanted to go back there again. I believe he was possibly abused by his parents and the house elf.

1. I think he was temporarily hysterical there. Killing Pettigrew to avenge James and Lily was the one thing he could think of to do, and Pettigrew had just gotten away, framing Sirius just to make it worse.

2. He hated Grimmauld Place that much. It was a last resort for him. He only used it when the Order needed somewhere as a HQ.
