Harry
Started off as a misunderstood kid living under some stairs (*cough* starkid *cough*) too an epic hero. He's a great character but not my favorite. I like his determination and love his confidence.

Ron
Best in the trio. Absolutely hilarious but sometimes moody and selfish. Like Harry, he was also just a misunderstood eleven year old living in the shadows of his successful older brothers to a king.

Hermione
I'm gonna be honest but I didn't really like her at first but she began to grow on me. I really like her cocky know-it-all attitude!

Dumbledore
Brilliant. Nuff said.

Voldemort
I want to not like Voldemort but I think that he is a very well-written character with an interesting backstory. He's one of the best characters in the series!

HARRY
Harry is, for the most part, just an innocent little boy. We see this in every single book as he learns about the Wizarding world. When casting began, the moviemakers wanted the actor that would be Harry to be pretty much an old soul in a young body. He is innocent, but he also has his moments of wisdom. He is brave and loyal, a true Gryffindor. He'll go to any lengths to save/protect his friends. Harry has always been my favorite of the trio.
RON
Ron is pretty much a typical guy. He's rude, crude, and always hungry. He's also jealous of Harry. People see Ron as "Harry Potter's sidekick/best friend." They don't see him as Ron. Also, Ron doesn't think it's fair that his best friend is both famous and rich.
HERMIONE
Hermione's smart, and she likes to show it. She won't hesitate to stand up for what she believes in. She, like Ron, sticks by Harry through their adventures.
DUMBLEDORE
Dumbledore is perhaps the most difficult character to understand. His personality can probably be summed up by Percy Weasley. "Mad? He's a genius! Best wizard in the world! But he is a bit mad, yes." Dumbledore never properly explains anything. Instead, he leaves ominous clues and expects people to figure them out. Dumbledore is also very secretive. Not once did he tell Harry about his family, his friendship with Grindelwald and what that led to, or where he lived. So many questions were left unanswered after his death in 1996. As one should expect, Rita Skeeter filled in the holes with her own guesses in her biography.
VOLDEMORT
The Dark wizard known as Lord Voldemort took particular care to ensure that his true identity and his past remained a secret. Though he called himself a pureblood, Tom Marvolo Riddle was in fact a half-blood, a fact he worked endlessly to conceal from his followers. He also worked to conceal the fact that he grew up in a Muggle orpanage. Tom was afraid of Death. As he once said in the movies, "Only I can live forever." He made Horcruxes in an attempt to make himself invincible and immortal. Unfortunately, that didn't work. He was ignorant of the charm Lily Potter had put on Harry when he killed her. He never understood love. In my personal opinion, Loed Voldemort is the only character to truly deserve the Dementor's Kiss.
