They learn from their parents. Attendance at a wizarding school is not compulsory; some children are home-schooled.

I think the majority were taught at home by the parents. So, Mrs Weasley will have taught the Weasley kids the basics, like reading and writing. A few might have gone to Muggle schools, but as wizards can't control their powers when they're young, it might have been a bit dangerous.

well to some extent they would have been taught by their parents and some kids are home schooled anyway instead of going to Hogwarts, i don't think they went to muggle schools as they always seem ignorant of muggles and their ways!

Pure-bloods are home schooled.

Muggle-borns are of course schooled in Muggle institutions as they don't know about their wizarding abilities until they receive their letter from Hogwarts.

Half-bloods are most likely schooled in the Muggle world, as their Muggle parent would wish for them to have a formal education (like Harry, who was more like a Muggle-born, or Severus whose mother lived like a Muggle despite her wizarding origins).

Private tutorship requires wealth - I don't see many families doing so though.

most purebloods are home schooled and i suppose some halfbloods would be aswell(although most halfbloods would go to a muggle school). but muggleborns just go to regular muggle schools
