Harry Potter Question

a very complicated question (well, not that complicated)

ok so i have a few questions. Hogwarts only exepts witches/wizards from great Britain right? (right) . so where would wizards/witches who are not from great britain go to learn magic?

Answer: beauxbatons or durmtrang.

But my real question is, do beauxbatons and durmtrang have any rules like on where the students have to be from, to go there?

i know pretty crazy question right? :)

BlackHound said:
It is not specified if Hogwarts only accepts students from the UK; according to HP Wikia, "Children with magical abilities may be enrolled at birth and acceptance is confirmed by Owl post at age eleven."

Likewise, students from the UK can be sent to Durmstrang; Lucius Malfoy wished to send Draco there, but Narcissa didn't want her only child so far away from her, so Lucius agreed to send him to Hogwarts.

Clearly, then, Durmstrang has no such limitations, though Beauxbatons might. Perhaps JK will expound upon these schools once Pottermore is open.

Hogwarts accepts students not only from the UK but from Eire too. See Seamus Finnigan. Nice reply BH, as usual.

I think beauxbatons is mostly for french people. I'm not sure about durmstrang. And i'm sure there would be other wizard school in other parts of the world like Canada and the States that we never learn about, because ya know not everyone can just go to wizarding school in Europe :P

The witches or wizards that are not great would probly go to beauxbaton, since most are light. I know Durmtrang is a dark arts school, so problebly lets only dark families in.

I think that Durmstrang doesn't allow Muggle Borns. Because on the train ride to Hogwarts in the 4th book, Malfoy, while talking about Durmstrang, was saying "They don't allow scum like that Granger in."
