I don't know...I fell in love with the story so spontaneous, not influenced by the movies (although I did see them before I read the books) and I just liked it from the first moment I opened the first page. I didn't expect much, to be quite honest with you. I was really bored and the next thing I knew - I was reading them like a fanatic...
I guess they were sort of a hidden world I always wanted to be part of, and it gave me that feeling when I read them...I just loved all that magic, and special things the wizards could do...I still love it! And all of these great characters, and funny lines, and the plot were so catching, I just couldn't help myself.
Just the fact that I started to love Harry Potter through the books and not the movies, is a solid base for loving it god knows how long. I will always read them no matter what...
No offense to those who started loving Harry Potter through the movies!

I love the message which is so strong in every book especially the last - love overcomes everything even death.
It's the reason Voldemort ultimately failed and it's the reason Harry always triumphed.
The characters and relationships are also so real and lovable it strengthens the message all the more.
I also think Snape is the perfect example. He showed all the signs of having no clue of the power of love when in fact his love for Lily was so strong he dedicated his life to protecting Harry who was a complete mockery to him - looks exactly like James except for Lily's eyes? No wonder he hated him!
That's the power of love! *sigh*
Love those books!

i really like the characters and the plot of the books.. there r also so many that u can actually be addicted and fall in love wih them! i believe that rowling is a great writer for succeding to create a world like this!
the only think i don't like is that she killed so many people, though most of them needed to die so as the story will continue being interesting and stuff and so as some things wouldn't be revealed till the end....
