where does Hermione leave Crookshanks in the last hp book?

During the height of the Second Wizarding War, Hermione and Crookshanks came to stay at the Burrow, but Hermione left with Harry and Ron after Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour's wedding reception was interrupted by Death Eaters. It is unknown what happened to Crookshanks while Hermione was searching for Horcruxes with Harry and Ron, or if they were ever reunited.

Hasn't J.K Rowling been asked this question in an interview at all?.. I imagine that, while their owners were away, Crookshanks and Pig simply stayed at the Burrow. The Weasley's possibly looked after them, and Crookshanks might've wandered off a bit doing his own thing a few times. Until, of course, Hermione and Ron returned, and they were reunited.
