Harry Potter Question

What is the difference between Fred and George?

I know their identical physically but they can't both have the exact same personality. When i read I can't keep track of who did what so they blend into one character. Can anybody clarify?

There is no difference between Fred and George. Since they were finishing each other's sentences throughout the whole series, you can't even tell their personalities or ideas or amount of rebellion apart. They did everything together, you can't say which act of mischief belonged to which twin. That's exactly why I hate so much the Fred or George kind of picks. Always Fred wins. And why? Because his death popularized him. If George was to die, morbidly enough, he'd win all those picks and polls now. Nobody can name any difference between the two which would give a reason for picking one particular of them, as you can see here in the answers to. Their story never folds enoughs to see if one of them was bossier or meeker than the other - even if you have that feeling it's most probably because they are always mentioned as Fred and George and not George and Fred. And also between twins there's always a more dominant one, but being so doesn't define the personality as bossy right away. Fred and George are written to be identical body and soul as a nice way to express through Fred's death how war tears families, friendships and even personal characters apart.

Honestly, I just liked Fred's name more so that's why I like him. Plus the ear with George was a little... gross.

I guess when you are in battle, you can't avoid getting gross injuries. Whatever. But so you liked his name, not his character, big difference. Justifies how you can't tell them apart. Misharrypotter, what was cool?

Well, occasionally, they'll be the words "Fred said" and "George said" next to a spoken sentence in the books. And, of course, George lost an ear.

George has one ear...and Fred...died... :'(

Other than that, nothing really, although I feel like Fred had more lines than George in the books. But I don't know for sure.
