Harry Potter Question

Can you be the head of another house, even if you weren't in the house when you attented Hogwarts?

Okay, say you went to Hogwarts and the sorting hat sorted you into Hufflepuff. When you get older, you decide you want to work at Hogwarts, but as a head for the Ravenclaw house. Is that allowed? I'm not sure if it mentioned that in book.

I assume that normally does not happen. It probably has happened on occasion however. I'm sure they've had times when it has happened, for example maybe there was no teacher that was a Ravenclaw, they'd have to have a Head of House. I'm sure it only happened on rare occasions.
