It ruins the chances of Harmony!

I find 'despise' to be too strong of a word, but I do severely dislike them! There was NEVER a moment in the book or the movies that I felt like they somehow belonged together!

I don't despite it. I don't hate them. I just have a strong dislike. Hermione's bit of jealousy over Lavendar Brown maybe gave hints of Ronmione so I was kind of prepared/dreading it going that way.

BUT I was floored when they DID get together. Because, if it weren't for JKR interviews, I never would have seen Ronmione or H/G happening. Really....

I agree with chameron4eva. I don't exactly DESPISE Ron and Hermione, but I still don't like them together. IMO, their scenes weren't that sweet or heartwarming and I just couldn't get into them no matter how hard I tried. :/

I love Romione, but I absolutely love Harry+Hermione's strong friendship and bond. That's something unreplacable.

I luv Harmony much more. I always wanted them together and knowing that that will never happen hurts. But I dont hate Romione. I just am not interested in them. Thats all. I dont like it, I dont hate it. I think im in the middle.

I don't hate them. They're actually kind of cute :) But in my mind, Hermione deserves so much better then him :/

I like them better than I like Harry and Ginny, which makes absolutely NO sense!, but I still don't like them. There's no evidence that they should be together other than JK telling us so. The series is plastered with evidence of H/Hr, which makes me wonder that the hell JK was thinking.

The reason I don't like Harmony is because I think they view each other as brother and sister. They both need a family, Hermione because her's is in the muggle world, and Harry because his is dead. And I don't ship Dramione, because... bleh. I just don't like it. But I do like Ronmione. Ronmione's actually the only canon ship I support, besides Bellamort.

So, ignoring the above Weasley-fanboy who has nothing better to do than to attack other opinions and thinking his opinion is a fact while on top of that not knowing the difference between 'annoying' and 'evil', let me say that 'despise' is a too big word. But there's no way that I like Ro(n)mione. Ron is too immature, and while some may think opposites attract and all the bickering is cute, this is not the way to build a lasting relationship. Can you really imagine Hermione being able to take Ron's bullcrap for too long. I can see it right in front of my eyes: "Hey darling, did you know what I've read in the library..." "YOU READ TOO MUCH, HERMIONE!" Not to mention that when Hermione would find another charity, Ron will start to complain she doesn't spend enough time with him, in the same way that he mocked S.P.E.W.. REAL love is all about loving and respecting each other unconditionally, even when you don't always agree with each other, and that 'unconditional' aspect is very much lacking between Ron and Hermione.

It's amusing how some people missed the anvil-sized hints for Romione in the books and got butthurt when Rowling confirmed what was painfully obvious in the books.

Sorry but it appears that he knew canon much better than you do who just bash and hate on the Weasleys because they blocked your own ship as shown by this post.

They do not bicker all the time, where did you get that from? Their bickering was a result of unresolved sexual tension not to mention the fact it was generally HERMIONE who started those arguments because she is far more argumentative than Ron. They argued far less in the last 2 books than in the earlier books. If Hermione does not like arguing with Ron, she would have exited the conversation or ran off. Maybe she does actually enjoy them?

Yes and just about everyone else in the wizarding world was against SPEW including Harry, so Ron is horrible just for sticking with the conventional views of the wizarding world? There is also the fact Hermione went about the crusade in a rather arrogant and inconsiderate way.

Ron respected Hermione’s idea enough to engage and argue with her instead of ignoring or lying to her. Sure he made some jokes about them because he is the sort of person who would joke about almost anything. Otherwise I would like to hear what made you come up with the disrespect idea…
