Naya/Santana accent?

I've noticed recently (during an obsessive youtube Glee cast interview spree) that Naya's accent in real life is different from Santana's on the show. Maybe this is obvious to a lot of you, but as I'm not American and am therefore unable to easily distinguish between the regional variations in articulation, I'd appreciate if you could confirm whether or not Naya puts on an accent. Maybe I'm just imagining it, I don't know!

The only thing I noticed is that here voice is a tad bit higher in real life, than the version she uses on the show. I guess thats more effective when she's trying to sound bitchy as Santana.

I have caught her a couple times doing the South-Cali 'valleygirl' thing where she overemphasizes certain parts of words (like 'super' sounds more like su-per) which is definitely NOT done in Ohio-where the show is supposed to be set.
