I think you've mistaken this club. It's for the TV series called Friends, not for making friends on this website.

As for making friends/getting people to fan you - add good contributions, that might make people fan you. Fan people, and some might fan back, especially if you've clubs in common.

Try going to the random spot. You'll probably find more people responding there. Since this is not an actual friends spot only for the tv show.
