Feminism Do you think that women should have more rights/superiority to men in order to "make up" for how women have been treated in the past?

NO WAY !!! To make up for the past, men and women should have equal rights now, not females or men to be superior.

Wouldn't giving women superiority kinda, I don't know, DEFEAT the purpose of this movement?

There are actually already some things (in certain countries) where women are given privileges over men. For example, in the UK, women can currently get cheaper car insurance than men. It is in the process of changing at the moment though, due to inequality.

I don't think it's morally right for any gender to have any kind of privilege like this. At the same time, though, I don't really think men are in a place to be complaining about the car insurance inequality, seeing as they still have plenty of other privileges. Plus, it was technically men who made the cheaper car insurance thing happen anyway.

There is, theoretically, a plus side to giving women a privilege over men, and that's to give men a taste of their own medicine so that they can see what it's like to be on the other end and gain a better understanding of why feminism exists in the first place. Unfortunately, though, this theory rarely actually works. Many of them continue to ignore their own privileges while they complain about any areas that women have privilege in, so in that respect it actually backfires.

Sure, not all men are like that, but the ones who aren't like that are feminists anyway. Meanwhile, the ones who are like that will most likely continue to believe what they want to believe.

Ultimately, reversing the privilege won't solve anything or make up for the past (as everyone else here has already said). I've known people to joke about reversing privilege before (not just about sexism, but also in other areas like racism and homophobia) just so the oppressors can finally find out what it's like to be discriminated against, but the reality of it often is they just don't learn that way.

Oh my god I'm so sick of this "Reverse sexism" bull shit. NO. Sexism is sexism and cannot be reversed. You can be sexist towards ANYONE man or woman. By calling it reverse sexism is sexist in itself.
