Emo is feeling depressed about your life or something close to that. Lonesomeness is acceptable too. You become emo when u r depressed or angry at something or someone. Then the music and dress style just comes next without u noticing. It happened to me...
The stereotype is that they all wear dark clothing, with some bring clothing, and coloured(or black) skinny jeans. That they cut themselves, and that their hair is a certain colour and cut, AND that they wear a lot of makeup. Oh and also that they listen to screamo music, which may be true, but I do too and I don't fit into the other factors of the stereotype.
Emo is ACTUALLY just short for emotional. So just like a really emotional person.

its sorta all and non of that, being emo is about you as a person, of how emotional u are. being emo isnt about how u dress or if ur depressed its just who u r as a person.
Someone who is easily emotional and is usually depressed. Typical stereotypes include: emos always cut themselves, emos always want suicide, and emos can't make friends. None of those are true.
Emo is about the music.It is the way in which a person/teen expressed themselves by the clothing,music,And no emos do not cut.Some do ,but that does not mean all emos cut.
