Does the word 'emo' bother you at all?

I honestly dislike the word emo, you can't just lable those who are depressed or overly-emotional with one word as if it's that simple.
I am tired of people walking up to me on a daily basis and asking me if i'm emo, it makes them look ignorant, as if they have no idea what it's like to be depressed or want to die. Some people see those who are gloomy and dress in black all the time as freaks. I know those of you who don't mind probably don't see where i'm coming from and i understand if you don't.
