Marrying a demi-god doesn't make you a princess or change your social status.
If you marry a prince, you're a princess.
If you marry a king, you're a queen.
If you marry a demigod, then you've married a demi-god. Simple.
Although, I am one of the few people who DO count Meg as a Disney princess. I don't know why, I just do.

Yeah, but it makes you legally a quarter Greek god. I think that's just as good as a princess.

BUT Hercules is the son of Zeus, who is King of the Olympian Gods.... Which would make him a prince technically...

I'm not exactly sure because I think she's make a good addition to the line-up. But I have a few reasons.

Marrying a demi-god doesn't exactly make you a princess. But then that brings up the question why Pocahontas and Mulan are part of the line because they didn't marry into royalty either. But then you have to realise that they are really popular female heroines with their own films. Megara, while she does play a central role in Hercules, isn't exactly a heroine as once she falls for Hercules she plays the role of love interest. Also if you notice, the princesses usually act all sweet and kind and all that jazz most of the time. Megara on the other hand isn't kind and sweet as sugar 24/7 and is a bit sarcastic so she'd probably stick out like a sore thumb even though she's a really good character.

Those are the only reasons that come to mind when I think of why Megara and some other Disney females aren't included in the Disney Princess line.

Late reply sorry XP

The Disney Princess Line is a marketing tool. Heroines of disney movies are placed there not technically because they're a princess, but because they're movie was successful. That's why Mulan and Pocahauntus are a part of the princess line. Not because they're princesses, but because their movies were financial successes. Hercules, while it made some money, was not Disney's greatest hit (profit wise, anyway)

Well I do think that Megara should have a doll, I know they probably wont do one any time soon because the movie came out like 4 years ago. But I do have to say this. That not all the Disney princesses are heroines. Like Sleeping Beauty for example, Aurora was the one who needed saving. But Megara did save Hercules in one scene in the movie, when she flew on Pegasus to go get Phil espite her fear of hights. (If you are looking for a Meg doll you might be able to find one on ebay)
