IsaacKuo picked Ariel and Eric:
Unlike most of these couples, Eric and Ariel didn't develop their relationship under false pretenses. They also both started off with self-confident egos.

They were also both already accustomed to lives as royalty, so there's less of a lifestyle adjustment. While Ariel does go through a big change, it's one which she had been yearning for already.

Also, Prince Eric is able to offer Ariel every little and big thing Ariel could ever want, and he's quite happy to do so. Since she's a girl who likes to get everything she ever wants, that's kind of important.

jackdawson-love picked Rapunzel and Flynn:
Both of them were willing to die(In Rapunzel's case be trapped forever) in their relationship just so the other one could be free. I think when both people are willing to give up their life for the one they love, that's a strong relationship.

IsaacKuo picked Ariel and Eric:
It's a strong love, but their relationship has some interesting issues to confront (which I'd love to see explored in a sequel).

If Rapunzel weren't the lost princess, then they'd be on the easy road to "happily ever after" at the end of the movie. But being the lost princess is a big change to deal with, and it also completely turns Flynn's plans upside-down. He has to build up a new life with new ideals and new rules from scratch.

Additionally, both Rapunzel and Eugene have self confidence issues and neither are comfortable with themselves. Even though they're older than Ariel and Eric, they actually have more growing up left to do.

Of course, everything will work out for them in the end. It's just going to be a more interesting ride getting there.

Swanpride picked Rapunzel and Flynn:
Isn't that the point of the movie? That they are inicially not comfortable with themselves, but finding themself and their true identity (Flynn by becoming Eugene again and Rapunzel by realizing who she really is and that her life so far has been one big lie)? They are certainly the pair which was ready to give the most up for each other.

Swanpride picked Rapunzel and Flynn:
They got two days, three tops, the same time as Rapunzel and Flynn and Tiana and Naveen. It just seems to be longer.

IsaacKuo picked Ariel and Eric:
@Swanpride - No, that wasn't the point of the movie. If Rapunzel were not a lost princess, the story of Tangled would be intact and just as touching. And neither Rapunzel nor Eugene would have to change their lives so much. Living together on some island wouldn't be so different from living with Gothel in a tower (just a lot more pleasant).

As it is, both Eugene and Rapunzel end the story with the resolve to start radically different lives, but the story doesn't get into their struggles to do so.

IsaacKuo picked Ariel and Eric:
Eugene and Rapunzel spend more time actually together than most other couples who follow the 3-day Roman Holiday/TLM timeline. They meet in the morning on "Day 1", whereas most others meet at night on "Day 1". They then spend almost the entire time together, until the end of Day 2 break-up. This even includes sleeping close to each other on Day 1.

maryksand picked Mulan and Shang:
Mulan and Shang went through war together and both grew so much thanks to each other and their ending in the first movie was technically just a beginning for them as a romantic couple. And I love that in the sequel those issues they had and the differences they had were finally addressedunlike in other sequels where all the couples prettym uch live in cheesy ville without facing some real complecations of the life together, especially taking that they are all so young. Yet Mulan/Shang face their issues, work through them and become stronger as a relationship.

Next would be Eric/Ariel, I believe their strength is in their ability to give each other exactly what they want and to fit so organically into each other. They are capable of understanding each other so well (without words I would say because in the first movie Ariel didn't even talk and they still were happy) and they always work as a team, which I think is important.

And finally, Rapunzel/Flynn. I can see them having more issues to work with, but it mostly comes to their individual issues with their personalities, them struggling to fit into the new life and I can imagine it being hard for either of them, Flynn having to decide what he wants to do with his life now that he is not a theif and Rapunzel facing the real world, I can see some angst to come, but not it doens't have much to do with their relationship, mostly their individual journeys. I think they proved that by being together they support each other's growth greatly and would help each other at any cost. They wouldn't give up on each other, ever, I think it's obvious.

PS: forgot to say that all the icons/drawings are absolutely gorgeous.
