Disney Princess Question

Why does Christina Aguilera's Reflection get so much hate?

Personally, I love this rendition of this song. Christina Aguilera's vocals are gorgeous and she doesn't oversing at all (which is something she does a lot). Plus, I think the musical arrangement is divine and the lyrics are lovely. I love it as much as Mulan/Lea Salonga's version.

Considering a majority of people voted for it against the other option, and there were lots of positive comments, I'm not sure "so much hate" is accurate here.

The lyrics are pretty lame imo, and arrangement-wise it's a standard Disney pop ballad. And that's why I said it was pretty bad. None of this qualifies as 'hate" though. I think that word is overused here.

Uhmm, I think it is because some people prefer the smooth and slow but powerful delivering of some feelings within the song... Christina's version is perfect but it transfers in a different mode, I mean in this rendition, Christina had made a different genre for this song, it became quite rock-istic and at the same time quite the "pop" style one, gathering the thoughts of others, people just feel like her version doesn't seem to have the same emotions Lea has made while performing her version... arghh!! it's hard to explain, but I hope it answers your question somehow! sorry!

As talented as Xtina is and as much as I love her, the pop version of a Disney classic song will always have this unauthentic feel to it.
