Disney Princess Question

What's the difference between Pixar and Disney Sequels??

So the "who would you like to see in the lineup" countdown got me thinking a bit. What's the difference between Pixar and Disney Sequels??

Neither are made by Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar movies are made by Pixar Animation Studios and Disney sequels are made by....I'm not sure, but it's a company(ies??) own by Disney.

So, is there a difference?? If there isn't why is a Pixar princess allow in the lineup and not a sequel princess??

NOTE: I'm not saying I want a sequel character in the lineup, I'm just wondering the difference between Pixar and Disney Sequels.

I just want to say that the company that makes all the sequels and the Tinkerbell movies is called DisneyToon Studios.

The main difference is probably that Pixar makes it's sequels but Walt Disney Animation doesn't except for The Rescuers Down Under. I believe that all of Pixar's sequels have been released theatrically while the only Disney sequel that was made by the main studio and is considered one of the 53 Walt Disney animated classics is The Rescuers Down Under. Melody from The Little Mermaid 2 for example, was probably not even considered for the lineup not only because of her age but because that film was not released theatrically or created by Walt Disney Animation Studios. I hope that made sense.
