Disney Princess Question

Lesser know Disney Mothers?

I am considering doing a DP crossover comic, but in my story Merida is adopted so I need someone to be her original mother. It would have to be a lesser know character, (And she doesn't necessarily have to be by Disney) I was considering Ariel's mother since she fit the criteria except that she is a mermaid :(
