Disney Princess Question

Okay so I'm curious as to your thoughts/theories about this question that keeps entering my mind.

Why is Mulan considered a Disney Princess and not the three princess in Mulan II?

3. The first movie is more popular than the second. Which means if the 3 princesses became DPs, everyone would be confused sicne they didn't see the movie.

4. The lineup would be more over-crowded. Anna and Elsa are joining- which makes 13, and if 2 more join, there's 16.

The "princesses" in reality don't even need to be princesses. Disney basically chooses them off of the commercial success of the movie. So, Mulan was very popular and the movie revolved around Mulan so she's in it. Mulan 2 wasn't very popular, is a sequel, and didn't focus on the three princesses.
