Because she joined the army to protect her father's honour at the risk of being killed if they found out she was a woman. She was literally in a battlefield, a war with the army against the Huns and when her identity was revealed (her life was fortunately spared by Shang) instead off going home, she tracked down the army and the Huns, and saved all of China.
Ariel - Most Unstoppable Dreamer Award
Okay it's not a good award to give Ariel because it appeals to her stalker ego. But out of all of the dreamers, Ariel is most go getting. Aurora and Snow White continue to dream until a white knight sweeps them off their feet. Cinderella could only do minimal grabbing because of her position in the household and she was fortunate to have fairy godmother. Ariel had no one to help her, that is no seven drawves or fairies. She wasn't close to her family and her best friends were small sea creatures. She was alone with no counsel or advisor who could help her with her wish. Ariel took things into her own hands and made her dreams become reality. Even if she was very irresponsible, gave up her voice and became the target for Ursula's confrontation with Triton for power over the ocean. Even after the battle she still stalked Eric (pouting on that rock). Did the other "love at first sight" princesses go that far to achieve there dreams? No. Yes - if you count Cinderella: A Twist in Time.
Ariel - Best Singer Award (in my opinion she is)
Jasmine - Most Symbolic Princess Award
Jasmine in her aqua bedlah represents water, the most precious source of life in desert. Her formal dresses (one dress, ROJ bedlah & special engagement bedlah) are purple. Purple symbolises quite a lot things; royalty, creativity, ceremony, imagination, wealth, mystery, bravery, magic, passion, luxury, spiritualism, etc. In one episode of Aladdin the tv series, the importance of Jasmine's name is raised as a fellow flower of beauty who understands about caring for nature around her (trees, flowers, etc).
Prince Eric - Most Beautiful Eyes Award
Because he has pretty bright eyes.
