What do you think of having a Jewish princess?

I think it would be very good to have a Jewish princess--there are a lot of directions that concept could be taken, so please, share your ideas!

Why should it matter if she were Jewish, as long as the princess sings, marries her prince, and is kind to everyone I don't care what nationality she is.

I don't think it would be bad, it shows children a different religion if they don't know the significance of temple.

How do you know that there never was a jewish princess? It's not like religion plays a big role in the movies, and when it was hinted at (The praying in Snow White and Mulan, the Sultan saying Allah), there was never said specificially what kind of religion it was. For all we know, Belle might be Jewish.

Belle may be Jewish. But in The Enchanted Christmas, Belle and the other characters get Christmas ready. They don't say Channukkah or Hanukkah. They get a tree and a yule log. It may be that one of the princesses might be Jewish but I don't think it was Belle.

I agree with Swanpride. Religion has never played a very big role in Disney Princess movies. How do we know Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, or Rapunzel wasn't Jewish? I mean, I don't think it really matters what religion the princesses are because it hardly ever has anything to do with the story.

I think that's a great idea! I'm Jewish and even though it never really bothered me but growing up I think I would have appreciated it:)

the whole zero jewish princesses thing was so disappointing to me as a little jewish kid who wanted disney to tell stories about someone like me, and it's still weird to me now. "maybe belle is jewish if you squint hard enough and no one ever comes out and says she isn't" is not actually representation lol. also there's nothing in any of these movies that is even remotely jewish-coded the same way the all the church weddings and christmas references and stuff are clearly visual shorthand for christianity.

dreamworks did explicitly jewish heroines 20 years ago. bluth did it in the 80s with the american tail movies. the closest thing disney has to a jewish princess is...link??? wtf
