Disney Princess Question

What classifies as a square image for icon contests?

I've had a few submissions for icons in the style of this picture, but I don't know whether I'm being too harsh by not accepting them. The square border only appears on the forum posts, not the image itself. What do you guys think, is an icon like that acceptable in an icon contest?

Sure why not? It's more intresting to have diversity than just a bunch of squares. But if you're really that against them then you could request the submittees to fix it so they are square and the corners are colored so they can keep the original circle shape but it'll fill a square.

Yeah I suggested they do that originally. I just didn't want the square icon rule to seem unimportant. Thanks for your help, I just really needed a second opinion :)

I would accept it, it takes more effort to come to that round image than a square one, I wouldn't dismiss someone's work for that. It still looks like an icon to me, an original one.

Yeah true, they are a bit more original.

Are the originally round, or do they have white corners, so that they look round? I would say white corners are okay, round is problematic.

White corners. The problem is you can't tell when they're in a set of 5 like in the 20 in 20 contest, that's why I wasn't sure.
