I have a question about him after watching the movie again, when King Triton asks him about Ariel's peculiar behaviour. Why doesn't Sebastian cover it up concerning the whole Ariel rescuing a human issue?

He couldn't take keeping a secret from the king so he had to tell him. You saw the way he panicked. It's pretty clear that Sebastian was just under pressure. Plus he kind of thought Triton already knew because he kept bringing up Ariel's behavior and her being in love.
