Disney Princess Question

How do you feel about Disney not doing anymore princess movies?

Actually, despite what that stupid L.A. Times article said, Ed Catmull said that the Princess movies are put on hold until someone has a fresh take on them. However, they don't have musicals or fairytales as their upcoming future disney movies. Okay, I understand that the whole world hates the Disney princesses and girls want to be like Miley Cyrus, Lindsey Lohan, or any immoral female celebrity-but hey, this is completely unfair to those who still like princesses (me) and to some little girls who actually do love them (my cousin, who loves Ariel). It's nice that John Lasseter is encouraging the disney crew to be more creative and less formulaic but it is not fair to exclude the princess movies or fairytales out of this all because to them, the princesses are 'evil'.

If they think that princess movies aren't going to rake in the bucks right now than that's their decision to make. But they aren't completely giving up on the notion of princess movies because they know that that will cause them to lose a lot of fans. I believe with all my heart that they will eventually make more princess movies but probably not for several years. But that's ok! We still have the good classics to hold onto! :)

^ i think that rapunzel and tiana are good- theyrve tried to make the like the classic,s especially tiana. i mean, stuff like mars needs moms probably stinks.

Me too but I don't like any of thier recent non-fairytale movies. I found girls in non-fairytale moveis to be complete jerks.

Yes, because as much as I like John Lasseter, I feel that he needs lessons on how to make strong female characters. So what if he's "just a guy,"? I know a lot of guys who made good strong female heroines like Walt Disney and Miyazaki.

I agree! Tangled and PATF were signs that Disney still has the magic. Im lookin forward to the new Winnie the Pooh movie thats comin out soon. Disney Channel doesnt even deserve to have Disney in the title. Kids would rather like a bunch of untalented teens than beautiful Disney princesses. That to me is kind of messed up.

I don't see the girl from 'The Princess and the Frog', sorry forgot her name, as a disney-princess, because she is new. The old one rules, making up new ones only make them look sad.. :/
