Disney Princess Question

What do you think about Merida? (Brave)

All have heard about the new princess that is about to coming out in 2012, if I'm honest I have really hard expectatives on her, I love strong female leading characters. But: is it a good idea to add her to the line-up? what are your general opinions? I will say: NO, isn't a good idea to add her, Pixar is amazing and has very good quality movies (what I love) but for me that would the final thing to do to demostrate that DISNEY PIXAR is gettin more atenttion and care that the WALT DISNEY ANIMATION STUDIOS itself. What do you think?

My, she looks like an interesting character but somehow not very traditional Disney? Probably because it's Pixar, but recently Pixar really has been getting more attention than Disney. I kind of don't think she should be added to the line-up though because she doesn't strike me as a traditional Disney princess

But Mulan is still Disney not pixar.I think this princess should not be added to Disney Princess lineup as she is Pixar not officially Disney. And I agree with everybody else about Pixar getting more attetion then Disney.I think it's not right as Disney is the one that started it all.I was really disappointed at the Ocsurs that Tangled didn't win and Toy Story did! To me it seemed Disney got overlooked and forgotten about.I thought it was not fair one bit that Pixar gets all the glory while Disney gets left behind! Of course it's my oppion.I like some Pixar movies but I still perfer Disney over Pixar.

I think she sounds like a mix of Punz and Ariel, looks and personality!!
Her movie's probably gonna be good, not as good as Disney but still good, and I would rather see the movie first before saying anything about the lineup.
But you're right about saying that PIXAR might get more attention than Disney.

I've been waiting for another kick-ass princess since Mulan came out! ^^
I don't really care if they don't add her as one of the princesses, but I'd love to anyway!

I'm not very excited to be honest and I don't think her movie will be the "Disney Princess Movie" we're all expecting. PIXAR will surprise us, they always do. so I'm not pretty sure what do I think about this movie until I know something about the story and see something of the animation. at least a picture. but in general I don't like strong leading women characters like Mulan, Jasmine, Pocahontas they're my least favorite princesses.

I don't think it will be better than Tangled.
but I know I will be surprised by PIXAR like always so let's what will they do...

I'm looking forward to this movie! I love Rapunzel, but I'm looking forward to a strongwilled Princess who acts impulsively. I think Merida will be brave and heroic, but also a dreamer and a bit selfish since she runs away from home...she won't be too strongwilled like Tiana, and not a complete damsel in distress like Rapunzel...she will be a perfect blend of brave, and dream-like qualities I think. I don't see her becoming a part of the line up thoough.

Living in the tower her whole life and never leaving until Flynn comes along...idk...seems like a damsel in distress to me in a way.

Rapunzel is everything but a damsel in distress in my opinion.

I'm looking forward to it. I don't care if it's a pixar movie - I love Monsters inc. and Finding Nemo. I can see your point about the line-up, but I think we should wait until everyone has seen the movie and then decide. She is still Disney

I don't like that they are changing the title for more money..and I certainly don't want CGI princesses to become the norm. That isn't what I grew up on or what Walt started.

I tough that before believe me. But then I remembered what our Walt wanted: INOVATION, if we don't want to change ANYTHING about what we grew up, what will Walt think about us? I bet the people in the 30's tough about Snow White the same way: "whay can be move images? we didn't grew up with that"

Do you know anything about the man Walt Disney? Its 2012. Walt was all about doing whats never been done, stretching imagination. If he saw Tangled, he would be so proud that Disney has come so far from Snow White in 1937. Nothing annoys me more than when people say "no CGI, its not classic Disney". Sorry but times are changing. Its a new era. Walt would want exactly this if he was still here.
