Disney Princess Question

I don't believe the prince was turned into a beast when he was 11.

Perhaps what Lumiere means when he said "Ten years we've been rusting" is that nobody came to the castle for 10 years.

Disney drew the stained-glass prince like an adult. Besides, if the prince was only 11, who was in the picture that the Beast tore off? The young man with the blue eyes that Belle saw when she came to the West Wing.

If in Beauty and the Beast sequels (which I've never watched) Disney said that the prince was 11 when he was cursed, then Disney contradicted itself.

Alright, you don't have to believe it, but I'll show you the math.

The flower begins to wilt after age 21.

They've been rusting for 10 years.

21-10=11

Beast was 11.

If nobody had come to the castle for ten years, he might be even younger. We have to consider that the Beast was 21 during the entire film. He really has to have been eleven or younger, according to Lumiere.

Plus, in BatB: The Enchanted Christmas, I believe he looks pretty young. And I've seen 11 year olds who look like him in the painting. He looks very young there. At least younger than the person he changes back into at the end. Remeber, Belle recognized him by his eyes, not exactly his looks persay. Eyes never really change.

completely agree with her. Often times paintings of that style make the person being painted look much older than they are.

So you mean to say that this picture (link: linkis of a 11 year old prince? And the stained glass picture, when he was as tall as the enchantress? He looks pretty grown up and tall then. Haha

Uh, yeah, I do. That looks like an 11-13 year old to me. And stained glass can have distorted height- it's a very abstract art style, and is up to interpretation. So Adam could look larger becasue he's the prince and that role demands more respect, and in art and culture, a larger or higher place in art and liturature.

I don't believe too.
I think Lumiere just said it for effect.

I always used to think 21st year = 21 years of enchantment. :/
Plus, if everyone was aging... why does Chip exist, and why does he seem to remember a time before being a teacup? There's no way he's over 10.

I think only the Beast aged because he was a living creature. The inanimate objects didn't age.

Iam not sure if i should say anything since you already covered most of it, but i think i will give you a fun fact, in the Swedish Version Lumiére sings I 12 år har vi rostat which translates into for 12 years we have been rusting.

Just a fun fact on either a mistake or something they did to make the song work in Swedish

He was 11,
In "The Enchanted Christmas" they flashback to the night of his transformation.
It was during Christmas and he was VERY young.
The stainglass window was him...but in the end the drawing of him on the stainglass window looks different from the one at the beginning,
Also looking back at the painting...he does look quite young and boyish...his feautures still have a childlike form.
