After spending last Valentine's Day in a state of "Delirium," about a futuristic society in which love is considered a chemically curable disease, we've been waiting all year for the chance to sink our teeth into Lauren Oliver's next dystopian tome. Because seriously, we feel about this book the way most people feel about a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolate truffles. (Which is to say that we want to hide in the bathroom with it and polish it off in one uninterrupted sitting while our significant other bangs on the door and shouts, "What are you doing in there?!")
But alas, it was not to be: There are still two weeks until "Pandemonium" hits shelves. Which means that under most circumstances, we would have spent our Valentine's Day morning composing the following poem to express our feelings...
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Why isn't "Pandemonium" out yet,
Darn it, darn it, darn it angry.
...that is, if Lauren Oliver hadn't given us a wonderful Valentine's gift to make up for the disappointment!
But she did! Which means that rather than salving our feelings with angsty poetics, we'll be patiently awaiting the next book's release... whilst avidly reading "Hana," our EXCLUSIVE sneak peek at "Delirium" from a totally different point of view. Because while we've already followed Lena through the first chapter of her story, "Hana" takes us back and then takes a totally different tack: following the events of "Delirium" through the eyes of Hana, Lena's best friend.
The story: When the Deering Heights party gets raided Lena and Alex hide in a shed while Hana takes cover only a few feet away. That night, though fateful for both Lena and Hana, sets them on completely different paths…one of which we've already explored, and the other of which we're about to uncover! Right now! And so are you -- all you have to do scroll through the never-before-seen story below...and wait just a leetle bit longer for "Pandemonium" to be released on February 28 (the same day as the eBook version of "Hana").
We'd suggest doing it in the bathroom with a pile of chocolate, but you are your own master.
